Also, the tutoring sessions were super useful to learn grammar tricks and desmos. When I got my 1540, I found that the practice tests were very close in difficulty, if not harder, than my SAT.

Our Mission
We—Thienvan Vo, Elijah Chen, Saket Sambaraju, and Mark Lim—started CookSAT after finding that we learned best when studying together. Without expensive test prep, we had to self-study our three top 1% scores, and learned tons of helpful strategies along the way. However, after creating a community to study and teaching others, we realized something.
School doesn't teach you enough for the SAT.
When the SAT switched from paper to digital, old strategies and techniques were suddenly replaced with new ones. Methods like advanced Desmos regression aren't taught in normal curriculums, and because the Desmos calculator is such a new addition, there aren't even good guides online.
We hope to create a site that could have helped us back when we were studying, guiding us through unfamiliar niche tips and tricks for the SAT and with a focus on tackling the hard module 2 questions. We also wanted to keep it affordable, especially since tutors and test prep can cost thousands of dollars.

As the SAT becomes more important, it's essential that you score at least a 1500 to increase your chances at getting into a top university. Many top scholarships are heavily based off your PSAT/SAT scores.

We built CookSAT to help you score in the top 1% without expensive tutors. We focus on newer, advanced strategies for the digital SAT, like Desmos regression, that outdated SAT prep programs don't cover. We took the SAT (and scored in the top 1%) after the release of the digital version in 2024, so everything we teach reflects how the test actually works today.
It depends on the school, but generally, Ivy League schools want 1500+, Top 30 schools want 1450+, and competitive schools want 1350+. A lot of schools are going back to requiring SAT scores, so a strong score can seriously help your app and give you opportunities for scholarships.
This is our set of 200+ advanced SAT problems designed for students aiming for 1500+. They match the difficulty of the hardest module 2 questions, and will ensure you're able to tackle any question. If you can handle our extreme questions, we believe you'll get at least a 1500.
